Family Pictures, etc.

About a week or two after Michelle's first birthday we took some family pictures with Shutterhappy photography (she did Michelle's newborn pictures too), we had postpone them once because of yucky and frigid weather but luckily this day cooperated enough to get some good shots although it was a little grey out.

she looks chubby here, cute but not accurate

this was her first time touching snow

this one is my favorite

this pretty much embodies her lately

look Daddy! Can I eat it?

(yes mother I will send you one :)

Also within the last couple weeks Michelle has become a total chatter box and realized that she can point and things. She points and says "dat" all the time, especially loudly at church this last Sunday might I add.
Also on the 3rd Michelle got her first tooth and on the 7th she got her second. So toothless now has her two bottom teeth.

Michelle's 1st Birthday

EEEK! I can't believe that she is already a year old, maybe it is because she seems petite compared to most one year olds but at the same time she is more active than most too!

She was pretty spoiled with presents (we got her the mega lego blocks).

I got her cake for free from Albertsons (they offer a free smash cake for first birthdays) and since it was just us three and it was free that sounded good to me!
She was cautious at first but then she liked the frosting, after a while I pushed her hands in it for the heck of it and she thought that was hilarious!

Christmas 2012

I have this problem where I expect everyone else to update their blogs for my reading pleasure but I fail to update my own, as is evident if anyone ever checks this thing anymore.
I would probably be better at it if I could actually use the laptop without being mobbed by Michelle (yes, if I have the laptop out she is a mob in and of herself).
Since I last updated a lot has happened!
Michelle continued to improve her walking but still crawled quite a bit but when we went to visit my parents for Christmas we really put her walking skills to the test. You see, my parents goregous house has hardwood floors. Hardwood floors + socks + beginning walker was an interesting mix but being determined as she was she did pretty good. Not surprisingly when we got home and back to our carpet she took off! She walks everywhere now, cruises really, and as of the last few days she is trying to run. I really am ready for winter to be over so we can get out of the house!!! (I mean the park is RIGHT there). We bought her real shoes about a month ago and she loves that she can walk outside occasionally. This last week she has walked out to the car twice (with help down the step) and she thinks that is the coolest thing ever.

Back to Christmas!
We were in Utah with my family and we had a grand old time! We had fun with the traditional Cole get together on Christmas Eve and Michelle got her ornament that goes on the tree. (It is a stage, I can't imagine why! lol!)

For the Christmas Pageant Michelle was the cutest little shepherd ever ;) she was ok with it once I started giving her food to follow me

And yes sampsons, she is wearing "the" original mary dress
She recieved a musical caterpillar from Great Grandma Cole (she loves this!)
Her first Christmas Jammies (I mean, secret Christmas Eve present)

Christmas Morning

Lauren & I got cuddly blankets from my mom (I may or may not be cuddled up in it as I write this)
And Joe & I got a new camera, see it can do cool things like take a panoramic picture. Now If I could just figure out how to get it on the right settings for different lighting and how to capture a wild child we will be good (unfortunately the smart setting isn't as smart as i thought it would be)

Mommy got Papa a "goblet" since he is into duck dynasty these days ;)
We also walked around temple square one snowy night
We are holding up the unmbrella stroller with michelle in it ;)
AND Michelle got her traditional first taste of Ice Cream from Papa... she was not a fan. We paired it with peaches and she loved those (I knew she would, she always loves peaches) but she didn't like the cold of the ice cream.

Can't forget New Years and our Martinelli's!

Yes, the Sesame Street toy is still kickin and popular as ever at the Sampson house!
Ain't we cute? We were all dressed up to go to one of my Thailand friend's wedding reception (it wasn't during the summer so we actually got to go to one!!!)

Thanks Mommy & Papa for letting us invade! It was fun!!!!
