Life is Crazy

Hello all!
So i am sitting here going crazy from doing all my homework and still not being done and we don't have tv and Joe is at rehearsal so what do i do? remember that quite a while ago i started a blog so why not actually start using it?! here is the general update on our lives
Joe and I are both going to school full time right now. Alot of you seem to be confused about what Joe is doing in school so let me clarify- Joe is a theatre education major with a math education minor which means when he graduates he should be qualified to teach both theatre (which encompases speech as well) and math. I am going into elementary education. Right now we are both on schedule to student teach winter 2011 but since student teaching is a very fulltime thing and it would be hard to get placement together that is likely to change. Joe loves theatre and he is pretty much the theatre department's slave (or so i think anyways!). He was fortunate to get his job with the theatre department again this semester where he does lighting for shows (it's more complicated than i just made it sound- just know that he is awesome =) ). He also is in a play this semester (tonight is actually their first rehearsal). Auditions were last week and Joe was cast as the part of Jimmy in "The Rainmaker" which i think should be a really fun character for him to get to play. It is also a wonderful opportunity for Joe to get to work with his Dad who is the director (and this is his last play at BYU-I). It's a fairly small cast so that should be nice for him too- you actually get to know people better that way which tends to improve performance.
I'm going crazy even though it doesn't seem like i should be as busy as Joe it still feels like I am most days. School is just really crazy for me- apparently sophmore year is supposed to be the hardest for elementary education majors so hopefully once i get past this things will get better. Some of my teachers i am struggling with figuring out what they want or expect of me but i am doing my best. One of my classes this semester I go out to a first grade class in St. Anthony twice a week which has been rather interesting so far. I've only been a couple times so I'm hoping things get better, right now I will stick with describing it as interesting...
Feb. 14th is a saturday this year in case any of you are wondering and it will be our first valentines day together as an actual couple- last year we weren't exactly sure what we were... although Joe did give me fudge =) And it is also President's Day weekend. Great how that worked out isn't it?! Well we hope that all of you guys have a wonderful Valentines day because we will be auditioning for the Playmill Theatre that day. For some absurd reason that is the day they chose to hold auditions.... still don't see why. We are really hoping that we both are put in the cast (and hopefully Joe on staff as well). It would be a great opportunity, alot of work but also hopefully alot of fun. I think joe doesn't even really think about auditioning anymore because he is pretty much a sure in but I am still as terrified of auditions as ever so wish me luck! well i suppose that is a general update on us right now and i should get back to trying to figure our what in the world my math methods teacher wanted me to do...
