This week was Joe's spring break. We love living where we do but I also love seeing my family so normally we skadaddle out of here to get in some spoiled time with them (what?! I AM princess #1 afterall ;). This year my mom was going to be out of town so we ended up hanging around here instead (if we had been smart we would have realized that earlier and gone down for winter break but alas we did not). ANYWAYS, it has actually been a pretty nice week having Joe home. Translation: he is on diaper duty and I shove him out of bed in the morning to get Michelle breakfast (although typically she has already woken me up enough that I don't fall back asleep very well, but still nice not to get right up and going).
I made Joe try his first ponytail on Michelle. On a day we weren't going anywhere. He tried. I think he tried anyways. Good thing she is forgiving at this point (unless you are near a vacuum of which she has recently developed a debilitating fear, even if it is off and not plugged in)
We have also been doing a lot of those spring cleaning things that need doing when you are in a house which is actually kinda nice. I know it will help with my allergies but mostly it is nice to be going down my checklist knowing that we aren't just cleaning so that we can get our deposit back when we move out soon like we often have been this time of year. So nice to have a home base (although Grandma's address still pops in my head every time someone asks me for a permanent address, I guess I'm not used to all this stability! LOL)
We have done some fun (and not so fun things) this week too!
On Wednesday we decided to check out the Boise Zoo. I was glad that I didn't have too high of expectations because that would have been sad but we did have a fun time seeing what they had. For a smaller zoo it was pretty good, even though they don't have elephants which is really a travesty. We wanted to wait to go to the zoo until Michelle would at least be interested in looking at some stuff and I think we went at the right time. The larger animals didn't really interest her because she couldn't see them very well (a lot of the enclosures had big bushes or not visible through fences) but the lions had a glass wall so she could see them.
She also really enjoyed the Giant Flemish Rabbits (she kept leaning as far forward as she could and then trying to get me to get them for her, it was pretty cute :)
They don't look huge here, but really, they were.
This leopard was staying right next to the fence making that deep growling noise they make, it was pretty cool.
Michelle's absolute favorite were definitely the Merkats. The Prairie dogs might have stood a chance if they were in a better enclosure
too interested in watching the smelly goats (no we did not feed them, but we watched other people waste, cough cough, spend their money)
And what was Lesley's favorite? Well come on people you should know this, if an elephant isn't available we go to....
Joe wanted this picture:
Bald eagle at lunch time
She was so tuckered out at the end of the day it was cute.... until she wouldn't nap when we got home (story of my life lately)
Thursday we went to the park because, hey, why not?!
Michelle had her first ride on the swings there and had fun, although daddy may have been a little aggressive with the pushing....
I can't figure out how to turn my pictures on here today so.... yeah....
This was laughter I promise.... although I bet you don't believe me now.
